Accident · substantial damage
Jan 12, 2006 · Ponce, PR
A loose B-nut on the PC line connecting the power turbine governor (PTGOV) to the fuel control unit (FCU) that created a leak and caused the engine to roll back to an idle condition, causing a low hydraulic system pressure and subsequent control lock. A contributing factor was the unsuitable terrain (construction area) on which to make a forced landing.
These match the airframe or engine model. Whether each one applies, and whether it's been complied with, depends on serial numbers, equipment and logbook entries. Applicability must be confirmed by a mechanic against the aircraft's records.
Engine (250-C20 SER)Only with: Engines that do not have turbine energy absorbing ring RRC P/N 23035175, or an equivalent FAA-approved serviceable ring, installed.
