N-number availability
Check whether an N-number is taken, or find open numbers that match a pattern. Based on the FAA registry as of Oct 16, 2026; the FAA decides availability.

Use * for any one letter or digit, up to two. N-numbers start with a digit 1–9, can have up to two letters at the end, and never use I or O.
How we decide: a current registration means assigned; the FAA reserved list means reserved; a number cancelled in the last 5 years is held (14 CFR 47.15). Anything else appears available, but only the FAA can confirm it.
